About Lela Ivankovic
Lela Ivankovic is the site director of our Westbrook Campus. Lela has been dedicated to the field of early childhood education for more than 20 years. Lela began her teaching career at Gan Hayled Preschool and School for Friends in Washington, D.C. Lela joined WCC in 2005. Prior to her current position, Lela was a lead teacher and a school-age coordinator. Lela was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia where she earned a B.A. in special education with a minor in psychology from the University of Belgrade. In the United States, Lela gained a M.A. in liberal studies from Georgetown University. In her free time, Lela enjoys reading, traveling, and collecting medicinal herbs and spices.

About Sandra Dove
Sandra Dove is an assistant teacher in the Leopard classroom at the Westbrook Campus. Sandra began her career in the childcare field in 1976 at the River Road Child Care Center. Sandra joined WCC in 1990. Sandra has worked in all age groups as a floater teacher and an assistant teacher. When not at school, Sandra enjoys spending time with her three sisters, watching TV, and crocheting.

About Angela Hill
Angela Hill is the lead teacher in the Leopard’s classroom at the Westbrook campus. Angela received her bachelor’s degree of music education in 1992 from Howard University in Washington, D.C., with a minor in piano and vocal studies. Angela continued her education when taking the 90-hour training course with the ECE Association of Maryland, under the tutelage of Jackie Howell. Angela began her journey in the world of teaching when she came to WCC in 1994. During her 28 years at WCC, Angela has worked with all age groups and in all teaching roles from floater to lead teacher. Angela continues to enjoy her experience in early childhood education and her time working at WCC. When she is not teaching, Angela is busy at home with her husband and daughter, working in her church community as a hired musician, giving vocal performances in the D.C. metropolitan area, painting, or shopping!

About Kyla Holt
Kyla Holt is the lead teacher in the Duckling class at the Circle campus location. Kyla received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2023 from Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD. Prior to college, Kyla completed her 99-hour certification as she completed her courses in the early childhood education program for the Maryland Association in 2019. Prior to starting at WCC, Kyla worked in childcare for six years with all ages from infants to school age children in many capacities: floater, assistant teacher, aide, and lead teacher. When Kyla is not teaching, she enjoys playing semi-professional soccer, gardening, hiking, and being in the water!

About Sabina Manda
Sabina Manda is an assistant teacher in the Starfish class at the Westbrook campus. Sabina was born in Malawi, Africa. Sabina has been working at WCC since 2001. Sabina has worked in all age groups as a floater and an assistant teacher. Sabina likes working with kids and seeing smiles on their faces. In her free time, Sabina enjoys spending time with her two sons, cooking, and watching a good movie. Sabina also likes working as a nursing assistant on weekends.

About Chiprianna Wims
Chiprianna Wims is the lead teacher in the Starfish class at the Westmoreland Campus. Chiprianna earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Ashford University. She has been teaching for 10 years overall but with WCC for seven years. Chiprianna started with WCC as a two’s teacher and grown into new teaching roles that led her to the pre-k classroom. Prior to being employed at WCC she was teaching pre-k at Georgetown Hill Early School in Darnestown, Maryland. Chiprianna started her career working with children when she was 15 years old and always knew she wanted to be a teacher. Previously, Chiprianna was a competitive cheerleading coach for seven years in Gaithersburg. In her free time Chiprianna enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with her niece and nephew.

About Rosario Zurita
Rosario Zurita was born in La Paz, Bolivia, before moving to the United States in her twenties. Rosario is a floater for WCC and describes herself as being “a caregiver at heart” as she has dedicated her career toward caring for children and the elderly. Rosario has eight grandkids with whom she adores and spends most of her free time. She also loves to garden and her favorite food is cheese pizza!
